Eight Over Eighty

Since 1993, the event has honored eight remarkable people in our community, each 80 years of age or older, with The Tikkun Olam Award for helping to “Repair Our World.” This coveted honor is the most prestigious award for older adults in our community.

This is Jewish Senior Life’s major annual fundraiser. Proceeds from Eight Over Eighty help enhance the quality of life for residents throughout JSL communities, with an emphasis on subsidizing the cost of food for low-income or indigent residents.

In addition to those who receive nutritious meals because of this event, the general community benefits by acknowledging these older adults and their contributions, both big and small. This helps older adults throughout the community feel they are respected, valued and appreciated.

Sponsorship of this event includes high-visibility benefits, including advertisements and articles in local newspapers, a full page ad in the commemorative Ad Journal distributed at the event and corporate listings in all public relations materials, programs and on multiple screens at the event attended by 500 to 600 community leaders.
