FRIENDS of Jewish Senior Life


FRIENDS of Jewish Senior Life supports the mission of Jewish Senior Life of Metropolitan Detroit.

FRIENDS of Jewish Senior Life is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for older adults in the Metropolitan Detroit Jewish community by providing financial support and resources for social, educational, spiritual and cultural programs.

FRIENDS of  Jewish Senior Life is committed to promoting opportunities for leadership positions, networking and personal enrichment for its membership together with Jewish Senior Life of Metropolitan Detroit.

This effort benefits all residents of Jewish Senior Life, especially those who rarely leave the building because of physical and/or mental impairments.


Marvin’s Bistro at Fleischman Residence/Blumberg Plaza

Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Shabbat meals-to-go are available from 1-2pm on Fridays.

Volunteers prepare and serve  lunch, and snacks to residents, their guests and staff. Click on menu below:


Gift Shops at Fleischman Residence, Meer Apartments, and Danto Family Health Care are run and operated by FRIENDS volunteers with profits supporting resident programs and enhancements.

Welcome Wagon

New residents are welcomed with a gift and a visit from one of our volunteers.

Holiday Flowers

FRIENDS of Jewish Senior Life  provides floral arrangements to each residence on the major holidays either in the Synagogue or the dining room.

Our major fundraiser, a community event, just celebrated 12 successful years with profits supporting special projects.

Tribute Cards

Tribute Cards are available for any occasion. Proceeds fund activities for the residents.
